    Inner Wisdom Therapy offers adult, individual therapy. All specialties are trauma-informed, strengths-based, and holistic. At the foundation of each specialty is the mind-body and spirit connection.


    Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is an effective treatment for trauma and other distressful experiences such as anxiety, depression, panic attacks, complicated grief, childhood abuse, disturbing memories, and chronic pain. EMDR affects how the brain processes troubling memories. When a person experiences a distressful experience, the sympathetic nervous system can override the brain’s natural ability to heal leading individuals to feel ‘stuck’, anxious, and/or depressed. During the EMDR process, the brain re-processes the distressful experience in a way that leads individuals to remember the memory or event with less disturbance; ultimately desensitizing individuals to what was once a troubling memory and leading to symptom relief.

    Internal Family Systems

    IFS is an evidence-based psychotherapy that helps people heal by accessing, connecting to, and loving their protective and wounded inner parts. IFS believes each human naturally has different parts of them such as an “inner critic part,” “perfectionistic part”, “anxious part,” etc. Inner parts are forced from their valuable states into extreme roles within us. We also all have a core Self. Self is in everyone, it can’t be damaged and it knows how to heal. Think of the sky behind the clouds, despite any storm the sky remains intact. IFS aims to help people access their Self and, from that core, come to understand and heal their parts.

    Somatic Informed Therapy

    Somatic Informed Therapy is a body-oriented, trauma-informed therapeutic model. SE informed therapy focuses on how both the mind and body are impacted by psychological experiences.

    The goal of SE is to help people notice bodily sensations stemming from mental health concerns and using this awareness to acknowledge and work through painful or distressing sensations.

    Intuitive Eating

    Intuitive Eating is about trusting your body’s wisdom to make choices around foods that feel good in your body. Intuitive eating helps you to reconnect or tap into your inner nutritionist to eat foods and portions that feel nutritious, satisfying, and supportive. Intuitive eating helps to tune out the influence of diet culture so that individuals can truly listen to what their body wants and needs from foods. This approach helps us to let go of foods as “good” or “bad,” and eating in a mindful and loving way. Intuitive eating can be very supportive for folks who struggle with binge eating or “yo-yo” dieting.


    Reiki is an energy healing technique that promotes relaxation, reduces stress, and anxiety through gentle touch. Reiki practitioners use their hands to deliver energy to your body, improving the flow and balance of your energy to support healing.

    Reiki treatment can be received in person or virtually. Reiki treatment should not be used as a substitute for consultation of a physician or psychotherapist. Reiki treatments are not covered by insurance.
